What to Expect When You Visit Saint Thomas

We are thrilled that you are interested in a visit to Saint Thomas.  This page is dedicated to informing you of what you can expect when planning your visit.

What should I wear?

Come as you are.  Most of us dress casual.  Some wear jeans and T-shirts.  Our church does not have a dress code.

What happens when I arrive?

There is always plenty of parking space available.  The facility is all on one level.  There are no steps or ramps between the parking lot and the building.  There are no steps to encounter inside the building.  You can make your way to the Sanctuary and choose yourself where to sit.  You will not be expected to wait for an usher to seat you.  Greeters will be available to greet you and answer any questions.

What is the Worship Service like?

First of all, you won’t be pointed out or made to feel uncomfortable in any way. You will have a meaningful, stress-free experience…and you’ll have a lot of fun. Each service is about 90 minutes. The first 20 minutes of the service will be the greeting, scripture reading for the message, worship consisting of traditional hymns and contemporary music.  You can sing as much as you feel comfortable!  After the announcements there will be testimonies or the Annointing Service or we’ll jump right into the day’s teaching.  Each message/sermon is usually 25 to 35 minutes long and includes teaching from the Bible, typically one verse at a time.  The order of the Annointing Service, message, and testimonies varies according to the Holy Spirit.  You can watch or download audio from previous messages/sermons at the Media page.

What is the Annointing Service like?

James 5:14-17 KJV says:

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

This portion of the Worship Service where anyone has the opporunty to be annointed in the name of the Lord for whatever your needs.  You are not asked why you wish to be annointed.  You are not required to be annointed.  This is between you and the Lord.  We use olive oil for annointing of the forehead. Others will lay hands on the annointed and pray with the annointed.

What about my kids?

We have a Nursery for children up to 2 years of age where you can hear and see the service.  We do not employ Nursery staff so you are welcome to use the Nursery and stay with your children.  There are diaper-changing stations in the restrooms.  We offer Junior Church during the message and children ages 2 through 9 are invited to join us in a fun, safe, clean, interactive environment where our team of trained and background-checked volunteers offer a message which is easier for children to understand. Children older than 9 are encouraged to attend the message with their parents.

God loves you and wants to save you from your sins!

Are you sure you are saved? Are you sure you are born again? Are you sure you will have a future in Heaven? If you are not 100% sure, ask Jesus into your heart, to be the lord of your life and your personal saviour by praying this prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me. I ask You to forgive my sins. I turn from them now. I believe Your Son, Jesus, died on the cross for my sins. I accept Him now, to be the Lord of my life and to be my personal Saviour. I ask You to help me follow Jesus and guide me to do Your will. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

If you prayed this prayer from your heart, you have made the most important decision of your life. God has forgiven your sins, past and present. You are now a child of God and for you there is a place in Heaven. Attend a Bible based church, study God's word, and turn from sin. You are a new creation with a new beginning.
